Mantos Copper has an integrated management system for ensuring compliance with all of our environmental obligations. Furthermore, we are continually examining ways of implementing best practices in these fields through new programs.
Pursuant to our US$847 million project financing to fully fund the projected capital expenditure costs of the MV Development Project, we have agreed to operate Mantoverde, and have independently elected to operate Mantos Blancos, in accordance to the ESG standards of International Finance Corporation, World Bank and Equator Principles. In addition, we are seeking to achieve by 2024 the Copper Mark certification, which is the first and only program for responsible production in the copper industry that involves independent assessment across more than 30 criteria covering the environment, community, business and human rights, labor and working conditions and governance categories.
Both operations have developed due diligence processes carried out by external auditors, with opportunities for improvements that are implemented to ensure compliance with the international standards described above.
